undersea Tobago at Coco Reef

Post by Ainsley S. »

Hi-
I'm 20 and my sister is 16. We are going to Coco Reef with our Dad in a few weeks and he has us scheduled for ten dives. This is fantastic, since I love to dive, but my sister feels a little nervous about it. We have been certified for a few years, and even have our rescue diver certification, but my sister still gets nervous. I just wanted to make sure that this was the right dive operation for us. Any comments?

Hi Ainsley

Welcome aboard!

Fear not, you've made a good choice. Undersea Tobago are a small operation, but Derek Chung, the owner, is one of the most professional local dive masters. They use good equipment and I understand they're good on the safety aspects. I've seen Derek taking guests out, coming back or giving basic tuition in the lagoon during my stays at the Coco Reef and have always been impressed by his manner and the cheerful way in which he appears to intereact with his clients. The only slight downside is that he only operates local dives, close to the hotel. However, that should keep you well-satisfied unless you're a really advanced diver.

Hi Ainsley,
You should have no problems, I dived with them a while ago and they were very good they matched the dives to peoples abilities well and the guides were great. The drift dives can be very exciting but they will let you build up confidence if you need too.

I'm planning on going back in October.

Regards
Kevin
