We are planning to visit Sherwood park from 9-23 sept 2004

This week we are planning to book a ticket and a room at Sherwood park, because I heard and read lots of nice things about the appartment en Tobago.
And i'm planning to book the Suite at Sherwood park, so I hope there are people over here who can tell me more about this room. What's the difference with the normal appartments?

And one thing I want to know, is how can you get money on this Island? Can you pin the money? Or must you pay with traveller checks? And before I go to Tobago, can I go to the bank in Holland and get there some money in the valuta from Tobago? So that I have a little bit of money when we arrive at Tobago, so we can buy something to drink etc.

And all the other tips about the Island to see are welcome. But I think when we are there, Nigel can tell us everyting.

Welcome aboard!

Have you read our review of the Sherwood Park Apartments? This will tell you the exact differences between the suites and the standard rooms. You can get to the review via the Reviews item in the main menu bar at the top of the page. Basically, the suites are just larger than the standard rooms.

You can draw local currency from bank ATM/ABM machines at the airport and major banks. They accept all major credit cards (Amex, Visa, MasterCard, etc). Yes, you can get some local currency from your bank before you go, or draw it from a machine as soon as you get there. They are available at the airport and you pass two other alternatives on the way - Nigel will gladly take you to them.

only one question, where I don't find the answer for.
Is it posible to take my Nokia 6310i with me so I can communicate with the family at home?
I don't now if its posible to use my cellphone overthere

Hi again

You will need to contact your mobile (cellphone) provider to see if they have a roaming agreement with TSTT - the local telecom provider in Trinidad & Tobago. All (?) the British service providers offer service there, but I don't know about services in the Netherlands.

Also, why not contact Sherwood Park. Being Dutch-owned, they may well know from their own experience.

I have opened a question on a dutch forum, and its posible for me to use my Nokia 6310i on tobago

Update:

We are back from a very good Holliday on the paradise called Tobago. What a beautifull Island with very nice and friendly people who live there.

We arrived on Tobago were Nigel was there with Hans (Taxi Driver) to pick us up to go to the appartment. When we arrived Nigel give us the key from our room (we got the Honey Creeper, Room 8, The suite) and it was a lovely big room with an kitchen en nice shower, big bed and a balcony. The pool was also lovely and the garden also. Very quit but nice.
The only thing we missed was a sort of bar where you can buy a drink or something to eat when you are at the appartement or pool.

And this thing was also the thing we missed in the neigbourhoud. We like to go to a restaurant to eat, or going for a drink. But you must have a car to come to a place that you want. Because the heat it's to warm to walk large distanceses.
We went a few times to some restaurants (Kariwak, The pelican reef) and that was very good.

The rest we enjoyed the Island, the nature, the beaches, snorkling, diving,fishes, the local food, the local people, the fruits out of the nature.

So when you are searching for a very nice relaxed vacation....go to Tobago....and you come ralaxed back.
