Hi Bridget & Barry.
It's entirely a matter of personal preference. If you would prefer to eat in the hotel all the time, then go all inclusive. If you prefer to get out, then go B&B. The restaurant at Coco Reef is quite good (I'm dining there tonight, as it happens), but there's half a dozen restaurants out there where you'll get as good or better and generally cheaper. Some are within walking distance, but you'll need a taxi or self-drive hire car for the best.

If you 're going to Coco Reef you should not be asking how much?, or you cannot afford to go.

My feeling from talking to others was that it is better to go all-inclusive - particularly from the viewpoint of the drinks. Steve is right in saying there are restaurants within walking distance, but having been all-inclusive I have no knowledge of their quality. We spoke to some people who had been room only when they arrived, but who had rapidly switched to all-inclusive. There is no doubt that it is expensive - but what the heck! Otherwise you spend your time signing for things and watching drinks and meals mount up.

We went all inclusive for the first time in May and if you are staying at the Coco Reef we would definately recommend it. Most guests were on All Inc. as it became known and talking to others all agreed that although initially it seemed expensive at the end of the day it was excellent value for money. The food was wonderful and to automatically order a drink (remember also the soft drinks and bottled water) without thinking of paying, (especially everytime the 'drinks man' came up and down the beach taking orders), was a real holiday. There are two disadvantages to being All Inc. - Firstly, I put on over half a stone! And secondly, its true having paid for your meals you are loath to eat out. We did have two or three lunches at different places when we hired the car. But think about it: in an evening we chose to dine at Tamaras and then wander the short distance from the dining room to the terrace and sit under the stars listening to the excellent entertainment whilst sipping your All Inc cocktail, can this really be described as an disadvantage?
