Hi All,
We're planning to stay at the Auldwyn Lindsay Apartments in Black Rock, and we can't seem to find any reviews on the apartments or on Black Rock it self. (we're not birdwatchers)
Does anyone have any must see's and do's?

The Auldwyn Lindsay Apartments are a very new establishment. I'm not familiar with them myself and neither have I heard any reports. I don't believe they've ever been mentioned in the forum.
Black Rock is a very pleasant and friendly little village. Be warned, however, that there are no real facilities there so a rental vehicle will be necessary. There's one small cafe, of very dubious quality (all/most reports are negative) and one small 'supermarket' selling the very most basic of supplies.
As regards must see's and do's, just wade your way through the forum and our main site - you'll find plenty of suggestions.

There's more to Black Rock than the supermarket and the dubious cafe that Steve refers to - but it's not exactly a hive of activity, exept on Friday nights or when it hosts a pan contest.
The beach options are either to wander down the old coast road (follow signs for the fort) and this will lead you to the beach below Le Grand Courland hotel.
The other option is to head down the road marked 'Beach' and this will lead you to the western end of Courland bay (Turtle beach). There are no facilities here and the beach is steep and wild, but it isn't too far to stroll down the beach towards the Rex.
There is a rum bar on the 'high street' that will give you a real flavour of Tobago - I think it's called Michael's and if you fancy something a little more up-market, then L.G.C, The Sea Horse Inn and the other large hotel that escapes me are all within a very short walk. Sanctuary Villas has a happy hour and twenty minutes further on you have a couple of bars at Pleasant prospect and that well- respected resturant Indigo.
Black Rock also boasts a large school, a post office, a couple of churches and the aforementioned fort - I think it's Fort Bennet.
I have to admit that I have never stayed in Black Rock, but have stayed nearby on a number of occations and pass through most days, whilst on holiday.

The other hotel is the Grafton Beach Resort.Black Rock is a pleasant village a 15 minute bus ridefrom Plymouth and 25 minute ride to Scarbourough both trips well worth doing.As for the eating facilities in Black Rock there were two places,but I've heard that The Mango may have closed down,the other one (Black Rock cafe?) is not a fantastic gastronomic experience but it can be value for money.I think Michaels Bar on the main road does food of sorts on Fridays and Saturdays.
