Pizza boys "review"

Post by Marc Jones »

WHilst I appreciate the reviews are your own Steve I do think "Take away pizzas. The best thing about this establishment is the ABM cash dispenser immediately adjacent." is rather harsh.

Whilst it may not be your idea of great food a more accurate review would read something like,

"fast food very much like you could expect 'at home' except much cheaper."

We found it invaluable when stuck for a bite, their sandwiches were very good for a quick lunch whilst whizzing about and it was perfect for a fussy 9 year old.

Not a criticism as such but I think your review says little more to the 'yet to visit' reader than you don't like pizza. ;-)

Pizza Boys "review"

I agree with Marc. Although I have never been to Pizza Boys in Tobago, I have been quite a few times in Trinidad, and found their pizzas to be the much better than Pizza Hut, and excellent value compared to the excuses for pizza I have had in some "high class" restaurants and hotels.

Sorry Guys, but I have truly never had worse pizzas in my life. They were just so greasy and the overall flavour of the toppings totally hidden by the flavour of the cooking oil or something. We used them twice while staying in that area. We were so dissapointed that the next time I travelled to their Crown Point outlet, which was better, but not good. Talking to other visitors, I found everyone agreed - hence my comments.

Maybe they've improved since I was there in February. Let's here your comments folks because I don't wish to be unfair to them.

With respect, Alan, the fact that you've had a decent Pizza Boys pizza in Trinidad is hardly significant. I've had a very good KFC from my local outlet two mile down the road here, but I wouldn't use the one in Scarborough if I was starving.

If I hadn't been slung out of physics aged 15 at school for being bored and useless at it I'd do a handy graph here to explain why I think they are ok. It is something akin to hunger on one side of graph and taste on the other ;-)

I've had FAR better, but I was just after saying that there was nothing 'wrong' with the place as such.

I would also add, don't get suckered into 'going native' and slinging gallons of hot pepper sauce on your margheritta... hot isn't really descriptive enough!

Used Pizza Boys at Crown Point regularly during our last visit in Feb. We were staying at Sea Shells Villas and ideal for our 3 kids to eat before the baby sitter arrives and the adults go out to eat.

Also used them for the whole family for Pizzas after a busy day and you just can't be bothered to dine out. Quality of food was fine and substantially cheaper than UK prices. Fully intend to use them on our next trip in October.

We had some lovely beef and cheese subs from there one very late lunchtime. Never tried the pizza.
Had to wait a long time but was well worth it.

had some pizzas at the pizza boys at mt irvine and the first two where great, crispy crust and all...the last one was digusting and just how steve described it. we where thinking to eat it with a spoon, so soft and greasy it was, next thought was to give it to the dogs, but then again, we love our dogs....
must be a big difference who is making it, the first two where from the same lady. must get her working schedule to know, when it makes sense to go.....
