Help, advice, suggestions...

Hi. I am going to Trinidad, alone, for the carnival next month on a whim. After, I have three weeks vacation left. I plan to go to Tobago, but have made no plans, for length of time or accommodation. Reading all that I have on this forum, I am drawn to try and stay at the Toucan Inn if possible.

Ideally, I would refer a hotel with TV, and maybe a lively bar (although I do realise that lively is a relative term re. Tobago). Things to see, or do in the evenings?

I am hoping to do some diving too. Reputable dive school?

Am I chancing it too much if I leave booking accom. until I get there? Seeing as its Carnival time in TnT.
Can anyone recommend other similar hotels?
Having three weeks in the area, can anyone recommend another island nearby that has good diving? One that is not too difficult to get to?
