Restaurants in Castara

Post by Joanne Green »

Besides Sandcastles, what are some of the other good restaurants in Castara? We want fish, shrimp or chicken that's not cooked to death!! Which place has the best lobster at the most affordable price? Please-- all of you who have visited Castara in the last few months -- please reply!!

For lunch, try the Boathouse at 'Little Castara'. You won't get a big selection, probably just one fish dish for the day. When we visited, we had 'Rainbow Runner' and chips, presumably because that was what was caught that day. Delicious and great accompaniments.

I guess that you have seen the Restaurant Guides, under "Eat and Sleep"above - really useful.

The Boathouse,Little Bay for HUGE lobster that Brenton catches himself(about 150TT$ with all the trimmings)
Veras on main beach for wonderful rotis
Treetop at Cascreole on the beach for good creative Creole cooking
Margarites as you come into the village once again Creole.
Veras and Margarites are non alcoholic so take your own drink.
The other two-Clay Oven and L&H(?) were not open DEC/jan.
Enjoy

Ate at Margarites 6 out of the 8 nights we were there.
Great atmosphere and even better food. Margarite is a first class chef and considers all who come there as guests.
I also highly recommend the lamb at Cascreole for lunch. Best I've ever eaten! Ate lunch at L & H the first day there, had chicken "backs".
