PADI referral dives

Post by Cat »

Hi all

Wonder if anyone can help. I'm planning to visit Tobago in May and complete the dives for my Open Water PADI. I was planning to use Aquamarine based at the Blue Waters Inn. However, I'm a bit worried that the currents may be a bit too strong up on the North side... Could anyone recommend a good place to complete PADI dives or has anyone use BWI diving company for novice dives?

Thanks a lot :D

Hi Cat,
Don't worry. I’ve dived with Aquamarine for the last few years and seen them do OW PADI courses for a number of peple. They are very good with some excellent instructors.

Your first dives will probably be in the bay which is very sheltered and then they will pick some nice gentle drifts for your first proper dives, in fact they do that with everybody to make sure they are up to the fast drifts and more difficult conditions.

Hey Cat,

I have just recently done my OW Referral in Speyside. I chose Extra Divers at the Speyside Inn Hotel, because they had a brandnew equipment and were also cheaper than ther other Dive Centers in Speyside. They also had the best reputation in the Internet (http://www.mytobago / http://www.tauchernet.de). I would not recommend Tobago Dive Experience at Manta Lodge, about Aquamarine Dive I haven't heard anything so far.

There have been a couple of easy dive sites in Speyside and I was never feeling uncomfortable. Just ask the Dive Master at Extra Divers for an easy diving place, he will be happy to help you. The staff has been friendly and fun to dive with.

Don't forget your sun protection (a hat)!

Yours,
Marco
