Top floor or Ground floor?

Post by Steve Fawcett »

As I consider reserving a room at TRP, I had been thinking a top floor room would have more exposure to cool evening breezes. However, then I thought that a top floor room would also absorb much more solar energy during the day, and that a ground floor room might be cooler overall. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hi Steve

I suppose, in theory, you are quite right and that upper rooms will technically be warmer. However, because they get more breeze generally it does cancel out the thermal thingy. Knowing TRP, I can only say that both floors probably get the same amount of breeze (there's nothing in front blocking the wind), but the upper floor definitley gets the better views so would be my choice.
