Hilton Tobago weddings

Hiya,

I am just new to the forum and would be especially interested to hear of stories/experiences of weddings at Hilton Tobago. My fiance and i are due to get married there in March 06 (and are really excited about it). It would be good to hear all the details of anyone who has recently experienced this.

Just got back from my wedding at the Hilton on July 14th! It was fantastic, JennyLyn the wedding co-ordinator was brilliant she found us a great location in the gardens and it was just after the Tropical Storm. My husband and I went there without family and she found us some great witnesses. We got a fruit and cheese platter, all our flowers, a cake and champers afterwards.

The Minister is great a lovely woman and you will have the best time. There are lots of places to get married, including the beach. There is a wind at the hotel but certainly not all the time and thank goodness because it is really hot and the breeze is quite cooling.

Have a great wedding and if you need to know anything else just ask!

Hiya, thanks for your reply. Glad to hear you had a fab time. As you can imagine there are loads of questions/mini dilemas that keep popping into my head. The one at the moment is about music - what is the set-up for you having your own music there, for during the ceremony - is it practical??

At the moment we haven't organised photographs - does the co-ordinator help with this when you arrive?? What quality are they?? All these wee things are just minor - but it is good to hear first hand experiences fromothers. Thanks.

You can bring your favourite CD if you like and they will play it. Or you can hire a steel band, or a lone steel drum for slightly less. You choose your flowers and can have what you like, I had a tropical trailing bouquet with matching flowers around the arch.

You can hire an official photographer or a person to take a video they are all available. JennyLynn took our pictures using a digital camera we had brought, we then downhloaded the pics onto my laptop, (each room has internet access) then sent them home. Triband mobiles also work in Tobago, altough I could not send any pics using this.

Basically you can have what you want they are very accomodating.

We flew with BA and they were very happy to hang up my wedding dress all the way from Inverness! It arrived in perfect condition. It is very humid in Tobago and I would advise having the lightest dress possible as you would boil to death in heavy silk. Ian had his kilt on, but with a jacobite shirt and he was warm but managed ok.

thanks very much for all your helpful information.

We are flying with Virgin and they are saying that we have to put the dress in the hold but I am hopeful that the crew (on the day) will be nice and allow me to carry the dress on board. It is light-weight and I am glad about that - couldn't cope with a heavy dress.

It is also good to know that the co-ordinator can take your pictures for you as well - the photographers don't seem that expensive over there but i was worried about the quality so maybe the co-ordinator is a good opition.

I am sure more things will pop into my head and I will probably be back in touch - thanks for now though.
