Passport Question

Post by Amelia Plant »

I am visiting Tobago in early October for a week but my current British passport expires at the end of June 2006. Do passports have to be valid for a year from the date of travel or is 6 months OK? i.e shall I get my passport renewed before I travel....?

I don't want to come all the way there and then be turned away!

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Amelia

Full information on documentation is given in Tobago/Getting There/Documentation but basically the official line is "Your passport must be valid for at least six months after the end of your proposed visit."

Sorry, but I need to correct my information above.

The official T&T website appears to be uncertain about the situation. One page - http://www.visittnt.com/General/things/visa.html - quotes that passports must be valid for 6 months from the end of the proposed visit, while another quotes 3 months - http://www.visittnt.com/content.asp?b=3&s=2&p=1

The T&T Consulate in London confirm that the correct requirement is 3 months.
