I did it! BWIA
I finally booked my flight to Tobago on BWIA for December 11. I am so excited about going to Tobago for the first time! Let's just hope that everything goes smoothly...I have been a little concerned about the negative reviews regarding BWIA. However, I would have only saved about $65.00 flying American Airlines after I accounted for 2 nights stay in Port of Spain and a commuter flight not to mention 2 extra days of travel. If BWIA doesn't work out this time, I will fly American my next trip to Tobago. I also booked a car with Sheppy! 73 days and counting!

Problems with BWIA
Although generally I dislike to complain, I feel a need to post this message regarding poor customer service with BWIA. Yesterday morning I booked online through Bwee.com an online ticket to Tobago departing from Dallas Ft. Worth, Texas flying American and connecting with BWIA in Miami. I received a confirmation statement electronically along with a statement that my tickets would be mailed. I thought it was odd when I booked the flight that there was not an electronic ticket option although their website specifically states that you receive a discount if you opt for an electronic ticket.
Today, I called American to give them my Advantage number so that I could earn miles on the Dallas to Miami segment of the flight. American Airlines told me that my flight was reserved but not confirmed, and that I must call BWEE to confirm it. I thought that's odd. I then accessed my bank account online and the funds for the ticket had not been withdrawn. I called BWEE and was informed that I must call American and purchase the connecting flight to Miami and then call BWEE back and purchase the flight from Miami to Tobago. I attempted to explain that there were no directions on the website indicating as such, and the website certainly led someone to believe that BWEE had the ability to purchase segments from American.
Heck, I would have booked the flights separately to begin with if I had known that!
To make a long story relatively short
(and by this time I am furious), I called Leo at Leo's place in Port of Spain to inquire if he had availibility and he was wonderful and did have availability so that I could fly in a day earlier on American or Continental, etc. As luck would have it. I searched Orbitz and discovered that Continental was having sale, and even with staying with Leo for 2 nights, transfers, Tobago Express, etc. I still saved $300.00 US from the original Bwee fair!
I promptly called BWEE and cancelled my "reservation".
BTW, Joanne Green, if you read this, Leo said to send his love and tell you "hello". I mentioned this website and that you highly recommended him. I can't wait to meet him; he sounds like such a charming gentleman.
