I will be in Tobago for two weeks from 13th April 2006. I would be very grateful to anybody prepared to meet up and offer advice on purchasing or building a property.
The plan is to use the property as a holiday home until I am in a position to spend more time in Tobago and ultimately set down roots if all goes well!
I will be staying at Black Rock, hiring a car and am happy to meet up anywhere on the island.

Hi Syd
Nearby the airport, beside the road from the airport to Store Bay, you find Caribbean Holyday. It´s a company own by a norweigan businessman, I know him since many year. He has many properties for sale, and he also dealing with construction companies.

From him you can get information about houses/property wich are avaiable, and he can also explaina many of these "musts" involved with buying/building something in Tobago

God luck

the "blue mango cottages" in castara are selling out their property. they sell the single cottages, that might be good enough to spend your holidays and rebuild or change over when you are ready for more. good location!
they are still renting as far as I know so check them out in the listing.

Hi Step or Brian
Do you know if Colin is selling them all? And all individually? Just curious. 8)

Thanks Steph or Brian
I'm interested - yes - but not in a "thinking of buying" kind of way, just curious.
We spent many a happy hour at Sweet Point, I can see the views in my mind right now, I'll always be interested in what's happening there. 8)
Oh well - now if we won the lottery that might be a different matter.

I know..it is always the b....y lottery ticket... no million in sight so far. if we had one, we would live on the beach on top of our apartments since forever. this way it has to happen next year. keep the fingers crossed for us and see you on "our" beach one year or the other....

Hi all,

like Julia I`m curious to find out more than this informations. Unfortunately - like Brian and Steph mentioned - I never win in lotto but who knows... ?

I will try to get in contact with them at the Blue Mango Cottages.

I heard about some sellings in Castara whe I was there in October but never know that they sell them separate. Should have checked it out then... :(

Hi Sid, been away some days, but I´ve seen you have got a lot of answers.

I´d check the website and found that the old website is sold to another company. However, that website was divided into two different sections and those sections are still in action.

http://www.caribbeandreams.as/
They are for peoples who are looking for houses, lproperties etc.

http://www.beautifultobago.com/
This site are for visitors in common, information, rooms/hotels etc.

Hi Syd

I have a place in Bon Accord which we had built by a Trinidadian developer. He was selling his properties through Caribbean Estates and we found the whole process (land purcahse and then build) a straightforward one.

The good thing for us (being UK based, but wanting it initially for rental) was that the developer was well known and had previously sold 3-4 properties through Caribbean Estates. That way, we knew what we were getting, that we were not going to get ripped off and we had someone in Tobago watching out for our interests. I can recommend Richard Wheeler (Lex Caribbean) for your legal bits and pieces too.

Happy to chat more on email if you wish. We are out in Tobago for Xmas and New Year, so won't see you on your trip in April.

It was a couple called Manzano. They run a number of business interests in Tobago, including Royal Chicken in Scarborough and Bake and Grill (is that the right name?) in Crown Point and Scarborough. Lovely couple, very helpful and accommodating. Mrs Manzano has a good eye for design and helped us find tiles, furnishing...in fact she did all of that for us and saved us a lot of time and effort. We didn't need to do anything on the interiors or furnishing and the place looks great!

Just wanted to clear up the rumour on an earlier post that I am "keeping" one of the cottages of Blue Mango, or the Clay Kitchen. This is not correct. Colin's cottages are totally separate from our Beach House on Little Bay and we in no way involved with the sale or retention of the Blue Mango cottages. Hope that helps, and good luck with the property hunting.
