My husband and I and our two children 19 and 14 visited Coco Reef Resort for Christmas 2005 and New Year. We had probably the best holiday ever. It would be very difficult to find very much wrong with Coco Reef.

Firstly when we arrived we were given a Rum Punch and very quickly checked in and shown our rooms. We had deluxe ocean view rooms which were lovely. We had requested ground floor which we were given. All staff in this hotel are helpful, courteous and really cannot do enough to be of service. Andrea the social manager was fantastic. The hotel is not huge and there is not a lot going on, but hey this is a relaxing place to chill. There are no discos or kids clubs.

There is a lovely safe beach. There are two restaurants, Tamaras the formal restaurant where you dressed up a little in the evening. Baccanals the beach restaurant was on the beach and did lovely lunches and BBQ food. We had tea and cake there in the afternoon. Food in Tamaras was 5 star and service was exceptional.

We very quickly got some "OFF" spray from the hotel shop. This is much better than the stuff from UK. Close all doors of bedroom at 5.30 and spray yourself so you dont get bitten. We religiously sprayed on "Off" and got through 4 bottles and only got bitten a couple of times. Some people were not so lucky!

The service in this hotel is second to none. Selwyn the beach waiter was a great guy and supplied us with drinks all day on the beach. Also the lovely ladies bring you cold cloths and fruit. Everyone is extremely friendly. Nothing is too much trouble.

We did a few trips, namely the rainforest, we had a personal tour and a guy called Simon took us in his taxi and we hired him for the day. He was fab and a mind of information. He took us to the Argyle Falls too and was really great. Also went to the Buccho reef and did the snorkeling there - a must! Taxi drivers are lovely and very knowledgable. Mr. Zurro even sings and makes up songs about your family!

All in all just a fab hol. My 19 year old son was not bored even though there were no discos. Actually there is a disco about 20 mins down the road called "Sunday School", which we were told was very good but we were happy to chill out and soak up the sun and were in bed most nights before 11 pm! We had a few downpours but generally weather was very good. Last day was 46 degrees.

Would have no hesitation in recommending this resort and we shall definitely be returning. Most people do.We met people there who were on their twelfth visit!
