Which waterfall?

Post by Stewart T »

Hello all

Can anyone recommend a 'Rainforest Tour' that would take in a visit to a waterfall (preferably one in which you can take a dip)?

Have checked out the comments in Out & About > Sightseeing (Highland, Argyle or Rainbow Falls seem to offer the best experience), but would be grateful for any other feedback. I am looking for something substantially more than a quick 10-15 min visit.

Thanks in anticipation!

Hi Stewart,

We took a trip with Rikki from World of Watersports (http://www.worldofwatersports.com) last year. We spent a nice afternoon at Highland waterfall, and also visited Arnos Vale waterwheel and Fort James at Plymouth. The whole trip was about 4 or 5 hours and was nice and relaxed. Rikki is a great guy and knows his local history and flora and fauna.

Hope this helps :D

Thanks Grant

That’s a great help, will check Rikki out.

Just for my info, was there much walking involved during the trip? We are looking to do a couple of hours or so.

Cheers – Stewart

Stewart,

Sorry about taking so long to get back to you. From the road end, I reckon the walk in to Highalnd falls was about 1 hour or so, with one crossing of a stream. It's all relatively flat and not too hot. There wasn't a problem with insects or mossies.

There was plenty time to swim at the waterfall, and in fact Rikki and I carried back a bit of an old cooker that we found in the depths of the pool.

We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and still had enough energy to go out that night.

Hope this helps.
