Shower heads

Post by Bill B »

Steve,

In reading some of your recent reviews you mentioned that you prefer old style shower heads. I have a good friend who can't stand the restricted flow heads now mandated in the US (and I assume most other areas). His solution when he goes on vacation (mostly timeshare trades) is to take along a pair of channel lock pliers, teflon thread tape and his "personal preferred shower head" and make the switch over for the week. :P

Does anybody else have any strange travel quirks they'd like to share?

Thank you for your review on Alibaba's Seabreeze. As I previously posted we will be staying there next year ( 01/15-01/18 ) to start our Tobago vacation. After reading your positive comments and seeing the additional pictures I know we will be well pleased. We just recently returned from 10 days in St. Maarten and can now start to focus on our next trip to the tropics.

Hi Bill

I'm not sure that many property owners would be happy with your friend's solution - although I assume that he knows what he's doing. If I tried that, I'd probably end up stripping all the chrome/plastic/finish off the pipes, or whatever. Its amazing what a difference what a difference a decent shower head can make and I don't care what anyone says, none of the modern shower heads give the same total cascade as the old 6-inch heads.

Yes, you'll really enjoy Alibaba's Seabreeze. They really are very special and exceptional value for money given their location.

oh yes, you will enjoy it, unless you bring your own shower head
just joking.... but as simple as the plumbing looks here, as tricky it is, all different kinds of pipe mesurements and always changing pressure...
for lovers of "the full cascade": have a shower down at the beach opposite the boathouse restaurant. it has no shower head and comes with full pressure from very high above, like a massage on the shoulders....lovely
guess the problem is not only the shower heads, but the big ammount of properties (renatl and private) getting connected to the main waterline, that is taking away some pressure. I think they are working on it...

ENJOY YOUR BATH

Steph,

Don't worry, I have no intention of changing any plumbing while we visit you next year. That's too much like work and the last thing I'm going to do on vacation is work! O:)

We're looking forward to meeting you and Brian, limin' on the beach \:D/ , and seeing your beautiful country again.
