Big Thank You!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Steve and everyone who contributes to this website and forums. I have been reading this site almost constantly for about a week now and its a real gold mine of information and advice.

In particular I want to thank people for setting the record straight on the FCO advise. I'm a sensible traveller and will take all the usual precautions, but I couldn't help but get a little worried when I read the FCO advise. However after having read through the many threads & messages on the topic any concerns I had have been put to rest.

Also, Steve's article on the Rex has put to bed a few concerns I had after reading other feedback and I am now very much looking forward to my stay there.

My girlfriend and I fly out next Thursday for a week. Getting well excited now. We've never been to the carribean at all before and cannot wait to get our first taste.

We mustn't dismiss the FCO advice - but hopefully this site puts it into perspective. Similarly, my review of the Rex simply presented our experiences and impressions during the five days that we visited last year. Other people staying there at exactly the same time could have formed a very different impression, depending upon their outlook and expectations. Go there with an open mind accepting that it is a 3-star budget hotel in a stunning location and you will have a wonderful time.
