I am due to get married at Coco Reef in February and wondered if anyone could help by answering any of my questions. There will be about a group of 30 people flying out from the UK (the majority of whom will be staying one week at Coco Reef).
1. We have requested that the wedding ceremony will be reasonably private. Can anyone provide information about the locations and what the ceremony is like. We have booked a steel band for this part also. Has anyone done the same or witnessed a wedding there?
2. We have also requested that the dining is private in the evening. There is the option of a seperate area (conference suite perhaps?), though someone has also mentioned the Cafe Coco. Does anyone have any suggestions? Would it be advisable to have a DJ also?
3. Still debating on photography (still and video). Does anyone have any comments on the quality?
Would really appreciate a bit of guidance. Lots of questions going through my mind at the moment!
Look forward to hearing from someone soon!

Hi,
I got married at the Coco Reef last November and it was fantastic. We chose the private gardens for the ceremony which is a little secluded area up a staircase from the beach. We had no onlookers as far as I'm aware.
It was just the two of us who flew over so we didn't have a steel band but chose a steel soloist instead. He was very good so I would imagine the bands they have there are equally as good.
We noticed a conference room while we were staying there which would probably be your best option for a party of people.
The photographer is very used to doing weddings at Coco Reef so knows his stuff. You can ask to have photos taken wherever you like and he takes some nice ones all through the ceremony. The quality is obviously not as good as here as they are still in film and negative world rather than digital BUT they let us choose which photos to keep and gave us the negatives too. We brought them home, got them put on CD and have printed off some nice A4 size ones which are as good as digital ones we have.
Kevah, the wedding co-ordinator at Coco Reef is a really nice lady and she will go out of her way to make sure you have exactly what you wish.
Hope this helps a little.
P.S The flowers/bouquets are amazing too.

Hi Linda , thanks for that but we have finally managed to sort everything out now we think. We have been using a lady in tobago to help co ordinate things but we will have nine days there before we get married to double check everything is in place. My fiance was just wondering if you took your wedding dress on the plane as hand luggage?

Hi Greg,
I didn't have a wedding dress, a friend in Tobago hand painted a sarong for me, however I know that you are usually reccomended to take wedding dresses as hand luggage but am not sure how this would work with restrictions on the number of items of hand luggage you are allowed.
it may be best to either contact the airline of airport for confirmation on this.
I am sure your wedding will be just as wonderful as ours was, just one word of caution, if you chose to go on a full day boat trip the day before, remember to apply enough suncream, most of our wedding party look like lobsters on the photo's!
