Which Boat Trip

It's finally come round, I go to Tobago in less than 9 weeks, staying at Coco Reef.

One of the reasons for choosing coco reef (again) is its proximity to the airport. My wife find travelling by car exhausting, due to illness. We both want to go on a catermaran cruise, but she's not up to travelling too far by car to board the craft.

Who would people recommend for such a trip, which can be boarded within walking distance of Coc Reef.

Hi Phil

The Kalina Cats offices are located in the offices beneath the Surfside Hotel at the junction of Pigeon Point Road and the (main) Milford Road - so within a 3-4 minutes walking distance from the Coco Reef. Their boat leaves from Pigeon Point.

Island Girl leaves from Mount Irvine Bay.

However, both operators will collect you from the hotel and take you to the boat. Then, it is a simple matter of a short walk across the beach and into the tender for transfer to the catamaran. The journey from the Coco Reef to Pigeon Point for the Kalina trip is only 3-4 minutes; the trip to Mt.Irvine about 10-15 minutes, depending upon traffic.

Hello Phil,

We have just returned from Tobago and we booked a boat trip with "The Island Girl". We have been on a fair few boat trips on other holidays and have to say that this was by far the best. The boat was lovely, pristine and new, Scott the captain was very friendly and unlike other boat captains happy to talk to us at length. His crew were great, and the lunch was delicious. We were collected at 9.00am and returned at 3.30pm with two excellent snorkelling stops. It was a delightful day.

I know you will have a wonderful holiday as we did!

PS we "snuck" into Coco Reef one afternoon and enjoyed some good snorkelling - very posh hotel!

For the shorter journey it will have to be the pigeon point boat, 15 minutes in a car would ruin the rest of the day for mrs d.

glad to hear coco reef is still posh, when we last stayed there one of the giuests was a football manager (no names) and another was the chinese ambassador.

I made friends with a guy who was one of the big guys at a major international bank, but he and his wife were lovely and really helped us to enjoy our stay.

I hope the souffles are still as good, I'll be losing weight before the holiday just to allow some space for a few.
