Personal Safety in Tobago

Post by Tracey Wyatt »

We were a little bit anxious reading some of the posts in this section of the forum before we visited Tobago and having just returned from our holiday I can say that at no time did we ever feel vulnerable, threatened or have any negative experiences, indeed we felt safer in Tobago than in many, many other countries we have visited and many parts of the UK.

We visited as much of the island as we could in the time we had available, walked around at night and never once did we feel concerned.

The only precautions we took were the obvious ones - e.g. Not going to a lonely isolated beach with nobody around, locking valuables in the boot of the car, not flashing all the thick chunky gold necklaces and bracelets we(don't) possess!
