Robert - I guess it all comes down how heavily you are into the offshore racing and general yachtie scene the Angostura Tobago Sail Week runs from May 11th -16th this year. Regarded by many as the friendliest regatta in the Caribbean, the Angostura Tobago Sail Week is a growing event. Along with competitive racing classes, the charter class and the more casual comfort cruising class, there are usually a lot of "after the race" parties and activities at the Regatta Village (copious amounts of the sponsors Rum normally available). The regatta is based at Crown Point Beach Hotel. There are four classes of racing:Racing (Spinnaker) Cruising-Racer (Non-spinnaker) and Cruising (Non-spinnaker)Charter (Bareboat Non spinnaker)Comfort Cruising (Non-spinnaker). PROGRAM Saturday, May 10th: Registration for all classes. Sunday, May 11th: Skippers Briefing and Opening Ceremony. Monday, May 12th: Race Day 1 Tuesday, May 13th: Race Day 2 Wednesday, May 14th: Lay Day, Beach Party. Thursday, May 15th: Race Day 3. Friday, May 16th: Race Day 4; Prize-Giving Ceremony and Final Party. In some of the classes it is possible for you to partcipate even if you are not a regular crew member. If you should decide to go enjoy fair winds and good sailing.
