Cocoa Balls Recipe?

Post by Maria M. »

I was in Tobago a few years ago and bought a cocoa ball at the market. From what I can tell, the cocoa is mixed with other ingredients and formed into a hard ball. To use it you grate/shave the cocoa ball into boiling water to make hot chocolate. Does anyone have any idea how to make these??

Thanks!!

to make hot chocolate, you grind a tablespoon per cup and boil it in water for 10 minutes. than strain out the pieces. you can add milk and sugar to match your taste. if you want to use it to make a cake or so, you have to do the same thing. always boil in water long wnough before use.
enjoy

Thank you Steph! I actually meant, does anyone have the recipe to make the cocoa balls. I have the cocoa nibs, but I don't know what else goes into the recipe to create the actual ball o' chocolate.

Thanks again!

sorry, but I think that is along process that only makes sense if you make a lot of them... smells and tastes as if they have a hint of cinammon...
best you just come back and get some balls... ask david about the fun importing them...
