Parasailing

Post by Grant Mchattie »

There is a new parasailing operation at Pigeon Point. It is run by Rikky Knowles who was head honcho at World of Watersports. I have been diving with them for 4 years and took the opportunity to try parasailing in October.

It is excellent, with fantatastic views over the island from the sail. Suprisingly, it is very tranquil and serene when you are up there and there is very little noise. On the day my wife and I were up we could see the ferry coming into Scarborough and the Hilton from outside Buccoo Reef. The views of the reef and Island are superb! :D

My wife enjoyed it so much she was back a couple of times more, with some of the other "dive widows" from the hotel, including one who is terrified of heights.

It is well worth a shot! Web site is:

Ditto

Rikky was very thorough with all the safety checks which certainly put me at ease. I had been so scared before I got on the boat I wasn't sure I would actually go ahead, but by the end of my 'flight' I didn't want to come back in!

Warning though - it was very sunny, my husband was a bit slack with the sun cream and got very burnt feet and knees and our kids got a bit over-heated by the end of the trip (Rikky came to the rescue though and cheered them both up by letting them drive the boat back to the shore)

We would definitely recommend parasailing with Radical Sports.
