Walking in Tobago

Post by Lina Mallon »

I just have a few questions about distances.
We are staying in Grafton Beach and I know Tobago is fairly small but it is walking friendly?
Can we walk say to Sunday School and how long would it take us to walk to Crown Point? Not power walking or anything just a nice walk.

Thanks

Hello Lina

Walking in the area of Grafton Beach should be no problem, as long as you take all normal precautions. However, it would be foolhardy to walk to Sunday School at Buccoo during the hours of darkness, even if you felt up to the 3 mile-or-so walk. Crown Point is more than double that, so certainly not within walking distance.

Thanks Steve,

Was just wondering, cause it could be handy but I guess we'll stick to the route taxis and busses.
We are very use to the whole stand on the road and hope for a bus. Dublin Bus is the exact same and don't operate after any timetables.

Hi Lina,

for a trip to sunday school I would prefer to drive there with a taxi.
Maybe you find some other guests to share the taxi.
You can make a arrangement with the driver at what time he have to pick you up for the drive home.
You can be sure that is the safest way to come home.

I try'd it many times, it works.

Have a good time

Thanks Peter, it is a great idea to order the taxi. I am sure there will be loads of people going from our hotel!

When we stayed at Grafton Beach, the hotel organised taxis for Sunday school. I seem to remember that the price wasn't extortionate either - and our driver in particular was a mine of interesting local info on both the journey there and back. Not only that but everyone said that their drivers were completely reliable in terms of end of evening pick-ups ie they were where they said they would be at the time agreed!

Just ask at reception - and I'm sure they'll help.
