Help with Travel Plans

Post by Fiona Mcgreevy »

Hi

Early planning I know, but myself and my boyfriend and planning our 2 week holiday and thinking about going to Trinidad & Tobago.

We are hoping to go between Sept and Mid November and would like advice on what time is best to visit?

I have read some reviews advising to spend most time in Tobago. How much time do you think we should spend b/t each?

We would like to see a little at least of each island. Tobago may suit us best as we would like to spend up to a week chilling by the sea. If possible we would like to stay away from the touristy areas and get to see some authentic culture.

We enjoy nature and wildlife treks and are keen to try new activities. We enjoy spending a little time on the beach but get bored easily.

We will probably look at renting a car for the duration so that we are not limited to one area and get to see as much as possible in our short time frame.

Any advice you can give us would be grately appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Fiona

Hello Fiona

Welcome aboard!

It is so difficult to predict the weather and I don't think it makes much difference when you go during the dates you mention. You can always look at our Weather article (menu: Tobago/Weather) for details of typical sunshine/rainfall, etc.

Trinidad is not a tourist destination and is certainly not covered by this site. If you want to avoid the tourist areas of Tobago, consider the Upper Caribbean Coast (Arnos Vale to Englishman's Bay) and the North End (Charlotteville/Speyside).

A car is essential to get the best of Tobago. See our articles on the subject (menu: Tobago/Getting Around/Car Hire) for full details.

I'm sure other readers will have many more suggestions.
