Radical Sports, Pigeon Point

Post by Sue Wright »

We would just like to say a big THANK YOU to Rikky and Kim, and their great team, who run the windsurfing and kitesurfing centre on Pigeon Point. They really looked after us well and made us feel welcome for our week of windsurfing. Since our last visit they have made some alterations to their premises and now offer extra services to their clients, such as tea and coffee. They also hire out mountain bikes now as well.

We will be back next year!

We really enjoyed the water skiing lessons for my 2 children and nepthew (ages 16,16 & 13). This was the 2nd time visting Radical - but last year we were using conventional tow rope. This year with the (in my opinion) much better crossbar technique. Last year only my son was able to get up on the skis, while my daughter always fell. This year (now age 16) she easily skied first time holding on to the bar, which is placed close to the boat. This allowed quick feedback, stable pickup, and easy talking and advising (straighten arms, straighten back etc.). All 3 kids skied first time and "graduated"to the tow rope right away. Using the bar was a great confidence booster for them. The instruction was professional - I am recommending to my friends.

By the way, last year we had extra time and went parasailing and windsurfing too - parasailing is a great rush if you haven't done it!

All 5 of us had an AWESOME time doing the parasailing with radical sports. They looked after us from start to finish and were very professional and helpful to all concerned. Chatty, fun people that put us at ease as sopme of us were a little nervous about it. It was a lot easier than I expected, nothing to do but sit back, relax and see some lovely scenery!

While we went out for the second of three runs, about 15 - 20 dolphins swan alongside and infrnt of the boat which was amaziing to see, they were very friendly and our 3 year old was fascinated with them. They provided everyone with life jackets and have childrens ones for you to take kids on board too.

The store was well eqipped with loads of gear and we have already recommended some of our friends in Trinidad who are going over to have a go too.

Overall a great thing to do and woulod love to have a go at the other activities they offer as they were so helpful and professional. 10/10!!! Definately use them again!!
