Coconut Inn

Post by Annalee, UK »

I am staying at the Coconut Inn in June 2003. We have not booked any meals etc so was wondering about establishements to eat and drink in that area, within walking distance of the hotel. Are they many? Any recommendations?

Hi Analee,

We have just returned and we stayed 6 nights at the Cocnut Inn. There are not a huge selection of places to eat close to here, as it is the Canaan side of Bon Accord, which does have a couple of small Roti Shops. There is a place called Marcias Diner on the same road as Coconut Inn, around a 10/15 minute walk, however, we did not eat there so I can not really comment.

Anne whom owns the Coconut Inn, a very frindley, helpful lovely lady will be able to advise you if you ask.

If you walk up the main road towards Store Bay there is Fortune Chinese Restaurant, very reasonable prices, we had both very good and average meals there. You also have Mr Fiddlers picnic bar, which does have Bar-B-Q' again we only had a drink there. The lady whom was serving was lovley, however, Mr Fiddler himself was a bit miserable.

There is also a bakery a little further up on the opposite side of the road this serves the most delicious pastries.

What you do have and only 2 mins walk away is Pennysavers, the cheapest supermarket on the island, I suggest if you do go shopping there, go in the morning as you can not move in there late afternoon/early evening. There is also a large stall selling wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables just before you get to Pennysavers.

Sorry this not very comprehensive but I hope it helps little.

Have a really lovely time.

Michelle

I strongly advise you hire a car ( I would suggest this no matter where you stayed in Tobag) it gives you the freedon and convenience to do exactly what you want at the drop of a hat.
