hi to all, only the second time we have been on the forum, just noticed that lots of brits are asking about cash /costings and budget etc, just like to tell everyone that i have been monitoring the exchange deals online, last week tesco travel money was best, this week its saga travel cash, although due to the falling pound the sooner you get it the better??!! any way we are at the tropikist crown point in 9 weeks, be pleased to meet some more brits and share a drink and a chat. ttfn dave and sian

SiannDave,the problem with both of those is that they only sell € orUS$ so you will be paying two conversion charges.If however you go to your bank you can get TT$ at about 11.5 to the £,with no commision charges.

Rather than worry about exchange rate movements and whether I get too much or too little foreign currency when I go abroad, I normally just use the local ATMs. Only 6 weeks now until my first visit to Tobago. Can't wait!!

I expect to be using the ATM at the RBTT Bank at Crown Point. Does anyone know what their charges are for cash withdrawal? Having a Nationwide Link card, I'm used to not paying any charges in the UK.

No charges,you get what you ask for at current rates in UK.
The Nationwide card is the ONLY card to give this service.WHY?
If I use my debit card from my own UK bank account they charge me for it........if I go to the bank and orderTT$2000,no charge??????????

high dave w, both tesco and saga do tt$, just got mine in the post yesterday from saga, so now we are ready to spoil ourselves in tobago, it will be our first ever visit, i have to admit i am like a kid on xmas morning!! regards dave n sian

Took out a Nationwide card simply to travel, always forget where I've hidden it but as you say , well worth doing. Would urge all Brits to use it can make hell of a difference once you get home and the bills roll in.
