What's it like to drive in Tobago?
Never hired a car abroad before. Though did take our car to france once many years ago.
Is it the best way to see the (best bits of) island or are there plenty of tours?

Sue,I would definitely hire car you will be able to see a lot more than going on a trip.Driving is on the left of the road(as in UK)and the national speed limit is 50kph(not that anyone takes notice). The biggest hazards are potholes especially away from the south east of the island so look out for them.
I always use KCNN (www.tobagocarhire.com).
