Sail with Trimaran - 'Natural Mystic' - review

Post by Simon »

Yes Tourism organised a day sail for us with the 'Natural Mystic' - as I believe the Kalina Cats yacht is now rarely available.

We met Scott, the skipper, on Mount Irvine beach at about 9:30 in the morning and he took us out in his dinghy to the boat. Having given us a run down about the boat and what to do and not to do we set sail about 10 am. We were a party of passengers about 12 people.

We had a beautiful sail down the caribbean coast of Tobago which ended at Cotton Beach near Castara. There we could do what we wanted - most of us went snorkelling with gear provided - mine looked very new and in good condiiton - unlike some aboard other tourist boats I had seen.

Whilst we played about - Scott and his crew of two prepared a delcious barbeque aboard the boat. All was inclusive as were the drinks with which we were plied all day.

Cotton beach is beautiful - although, maybe we were just unlucky, apart from a stingray we did not see so many fish as we had seen elsewhre.
The beach is quite long so you have the chance to get away on your own if you wish.

The return trip was fun, with the wind behind us Scott gave me the helm and I made a feeble attempt at sailing the boat (no wonder the crew feigned jumping overboard!). Flying fish were seen although we did not see the dolphins which so many have seen previously.

Finally we arrived back at Mount Irvine beach about 4:30pm.

It was a wonderful relaxing day and good value for money - Scott and his crew were great - my only regret was that I did not buy one of his beautifully designed 'T' shirts!
