David
At this moment in time, you stand more than a 50% chance of winning a ticket - only 7 tickets have been issued for the month.
As you know, the first two weeks of August are the traditional British holiday weeks and it has really shown in the forum - I've almost never known it so quiet. Its not just myTobago - I'm noticing it across virtually all of the sites I manage. Hopefully things will start picking up from now though.

Thanks David.
I know that Ausust is the peak holiday month and everyone has got summer holidays on their mind, but frankly I'm astonished at how slack it has been this month. Mind you, we've seen it throughout the site - there have been very few new registrations and/or posts. We have only issued 17 tickets for the month and with 3 prizes on offer, that means each ticket issued so far for the month has an 18% chance of winning.
There is one technical problem which I must apologise for. As mentioned above, I switched to online card processing earlier this month. Well, over the last two days two readers have notified me that their debit cards have been refused. When I tried my own Barclays Connect card, I hit the same problem. No reason why - my merchant account is with Barclays. It can only be that the processing company hasn't ticked all the boxes when setting up the account. Trouble is, they only handle the processing and don't offer support outside normal office hours, so it will be Tuesday before I can get them to sort it. In the meantime, I know that the system will not accept Barclays Connect debit cards or Lloyds/TSB debit cards.
Sorry about that, folks. As far as I know, all Mastercard/VISA/Solo/Switch cards are no problem. If you know different, please let me know. Hopefully we'll have the problem sorted tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, leaving two days before month end.

OK Folks. The Universal Payment Gateway (UPG) that processes the charges claimed it was Barclays, Barclays claimed it was UPG. After to'ing and fro'ing between the two for most of the morning, Barclays finally accepted that they'd cocked up.
As if I don't put enough into this site already, I can confirm that I have just successfully made a donation (but not competition entry, I hasten to add) to the site using my Barclays VISA debit card. So, they seem to have resolved the problem.
My apologies to everyone who has tried to use a debit card. However there is still two days left before the close of the August competition.
Overseas readers please note: the competition closes at midnight BST (British Summer Time = GMT+1 hours) and the prize programme rolls automaticalls, so I have no control or flexibility over the cut-off point. Tickets for competition donations by cheque and/or PayPal have to be entered manually and will always be some hours/days after the donation has been sent.

August contest
My fingers and toes are crossed, but win or lose this is a great site and I'm enjoying checking almost daily to get tidbits of wisdom and also some laughs leading up to our 1st trip to Tobago in Jan. Thanks for all the work, Steve.

Dear David,
if you watch the monthly winners of the competition you can see that there are people who won more than 2 times. I guess it is just because of how much they spend.... Maybe you did not make enough donations? No, I'm kidding! I know you do a lot to this site. Don't take me serious.
Sure I wish you luck but I wish myself a little bit more luck
Poor old man
Cheers

Hello Mikael
Yes, there is a separate competition each month. It will be running from June to December this year (2006). However, all prizes are valid until the end of 2007 - so if you won a prize(s) in any of the remaining competitions this year, you would be able to claim them during your visit in January 2007.
So, roll up, roll up, people. The start of September has been deadly quite with only 15 tickets issued so far.
