Am thinking of booking a fortnight at the Rex Turtle Beach hotel next August. The difference in price between the All inclusive and Room only is £1000. Has anyone got any experience of either options? £1000 seems a lot for 3 of us (child 10) to spend in 2 weeks, but are there any nearby restaurants and what are the prices of eating out like? Would also appreciate any comments on the hotel itself. many thanks.

You should definitely go for the room only option, if you decide to stay at the Rex. All inclusive is generally not a good idea in Tobago, there are so many nice restaurants, and you would miss a lot if you only sample the hotel food, which is no match to any of the restaurants mentioned below. You'll find a variety of good restaurants a short drive away from the hotel e.g.: Sea Horse Inn, Indigo, Amadeus, Black Rock Cafe just to mention the most popular ones, prices range from 75- 150 TTD for a main course.
