My husband and I stayed in the Naturalist for 4 nights in mid June. It was our first time in Tobago, and having done our research on accommodation we were pleased to find that we had definately made the right choice.

We stayed in the Kingfish room which is at the front of the building and has a little porch with beach views. The room was basic but spotlessly clean (in fact it was cleaned every day!), and with the seabreeze we found no need for aircon. It was great to walk 10m from our room, straight onto the beach, and have a swim - it is one of the few properties in Castara which is right on rhe beach.

Ancle (owner/manager) lives 'on site' and was most helpful during our stay without being overbearing. He was always on hand, and we hired a jeep from him for one day to go to Charlottesville.

Because we were only in Castara for 4 days we chose not to do too much self catering - cafe delight (under the blue marlin suite) served breakfast, and we were able to get lunch or dinner at the almond tree or marguerites - other restaurants were closed as it was low season. We found dinner prices to be a little higher than expected but the food was always tasty. We also enjoyed meeting some of the locals at the recently opened 'D Lime' bar.

In summary, would highly recommend the Naturalist -friendly staff, clean well priced rooms, and a great beachfront location in one of the nicest villages on Tobago.
