Hello fellow wafflers,
I love the current hippy, nostalgic, indulge in memories of yesteryear thing that going on just now.
Leaving home to go to start my nursing training in London was scarey

but as a dedicated follower of fashion WOW what fun I had shopping in the Kings Road and Carnaby St. Living in nurses accomodation in Fulham it was only a short tube ride to retail heaven.Yeah we didn't get paid much but board and lodging was stopped at source so food was free at any time in the canteen and with rent already paid the money in our pockets was just for spending

.Could't go to The Hammersmith Palais without looking the part. Still managed to save enough for holidays though. Four of us took a horse drawn caravan round some of southern Ireland starting and finishing in Cork.So much fun.Few months later two of us flew to Paris and hitched to Switzerland for two weeks in February

. We got into and out of a few scrapes and how I carried the huge rucksack so far some days I really don't know but it was great.
As for the kaftan in the attic, last winter I was wearing the Italian made pure wool poncho that was indeed bought in the Kings Rd in '69 or 70
That sweet smell really was everywhere and although I never indulged first hand I can well remember a few parties when the effect of alchohol seemed far greater than it should have been

At the time I smoked Benson & Hedges king size or Consulate depending on the mood and thought I looked cool

.Gave that up after a couple of years of watching people dying of really bad things.
Tony and David, the photos are great, At face value the epiphany of establishment and antiestablishment and yet neither of you fit those particular moulds, I love it and it is really making me join in with the smiling.More from anyone please?
