Walking distance from the Rex

Anything? Restaurants etc.

I've hurt my knee playing football, and it's not looking good.

I see a specialist tomorrow who will be considering if I have damaged my Posterior Cruciate Ligament badly enough to need surgery.

My trip to Tobago is my first family holiday for 8 years and the seriousness of the operation has cast a big shadow on the trip - to put things into perspective, I'd end up in a full leg brace for 4 weeks after the op - and given it's NHS... you can see where my head is at

I don't understand the first line. Was this supposed to be a response to questions/comment in another thread?

Sorry Steve, I was fishing to find out how near places to the Rex. I was inspired to ask following you saying to someone else thongs like restaurants etc were "10 mins away" from where they were staying.

Hi Marc

With your leg in a cast, you are best assuming there is nowhere within walking distance of the RTB. Even fit, there is little enough within 10 minutes walking. I'm afraid it will be a 5min taxi journey to the nearest "decent" places, such as Indigo and Seahorse Inn and only double that to five or six of the best restaurants on Tobago.

Walking is not good at night, there are a couple of places to eat in Black Rock about 15 min walk beach or road, taxi from hotel not bad also food at the Rex AI is a good bet. not pay as you eat expensive.

Black Rock seems to be a friendly little village, but I don’t think there are any real facilities there other than a few small local shops. The Rex Turtle Beach is too far away from ANY facilities to consider walking. Hopefully Michelle (or someone else) will return to the forum and advise you re taxi fares. I have always noticed several waiting at the Rex and you can always arrange a time for them to collect you from the restaurant. However, it really would be worth your while budgeting to hire a car or jeep. You have an excellent choice of really good restaurants within 10 minutes drive of the Rex – Amadeus, Seahorse Inn, Indigo and Patinos being four of our favourites on the island.

Hi John

Thanks for that - I agree with everything you say there, with some reservation about Amadeus (excellent food, but I don't like eating so early and would prefer to go places where I feel my custom is welcomed).

Anyway, I'm just wondering when you're going to reveal your true self and use a genuine photo of yourself. What have you got to hide? We're all dying to know.

As ever, thanks for the help. I'm on a bit of a downer about the knee, if it's an op there will be no cast, but I won't be able to drive.

So it's cabs or walking (slowly!).

I'll build a hit list of restaurants and get cabs. That'll just leave me the dark art of guessing a time to ask them to return for me
