Naturalist Beach Resort

Post by Paul Tallet »

Hi myTobago punters.
My name is Paul, the leader of the Tallets.
The Tallets have frequented the beautiful island of Tobago for the last 3 years and are about to do another frequent in February 2004 !! In other words we are HOOKED.
We are a family of 5 including 3 kids aged from 10 to 16 ... a 'hardy' family that likes basic accomodation, no frills, a bit of fun, snorkelling, hot sun and lots of food and, erm, RUM.
Anyway, why waste money on luxury accomodation when in Tobago?
The Naturalist Beach Resort is where we have stayed for the last 2 years and we are going back again in Feb 2004 ... we rent out two rooms ... very basic (Sea View Room recommended if available) but adequate and my dear friend, Ancle, is cool and looks after you well.
Plus ... you just walk out of the door and you are ON THE BEACH !!!
What more could you need?

Naturalist Update

Post by Paul Tallet »

Following our last visit to this small Guesthouse in February 2004:-

A number of improvements as follows:-

New tiled flooring inside and out. Microwaves in each room. New Air-Conditioning Units (omly 1/5 rooms has no a/c).

The owner, Ancle, is progressing a new building right on the beach which will contain a fruit bar, Internet Cafe and, on the top floor, another apartment. Should be ready by the summer.

The only problem with the new building is that it blocks off a bit of the view from the Sea View Room.

The tiling outside can be slippery after rain so calm down any excited kids.

To sum up, the Naturalist offers excellent value ... it is not luxury ... but it is right on the beach !

Just back from Tobago. We stayed 2 days at the Naturalist. I agree with the other posters. It is a lovely guesthouse.

Prices of the rooms are between US$30 and $50. Good value indeed.

We did not stay in the front, sea view room although it was available. It looked as if you might get some lack of privacy when other people are sitting in the front.

The 2nd guest house is still under construction, but the Internet cafe is already in operation (TT$10 for half an hour).
