Does RTB provide hairdryers and irons?

Hi folks, it's a pretty basic question to ask in my first message on the forum but it's one my fiancee has been begging me to ask for a few weeks now

We'll be staying at the RTB from next Tuesday for our honeymoon and are busy making the last minute arrangements. Starting to pack last night we soon realised that space in the suitcases is severely limited so if we can leave the hairdryer and travel iron at home we may just be able to fit in the snorkel gear that we bought for this trip. I think one of the reviewers here mentioned a hairdryer in their room but is that standard?

Also are there any laundry facilities available?

Hairdryer Yes - Irons if I remember could be loaned from Reception.

Glad to see you are bring your new wife up the right way tied to an IRON, only joking you will have a great time, the new pool looks great.

Hotel is no good for snorkelling you will have to go to other beaches covered on this site well.

With just a few days to go until the wedding I'm not thinking straight... I never even thought to look at the Rex website for answers to my questions. According to the site they have a laundry service so there must be an iron somewhere in the hotel. I'll tell my future wife tonight... she will be happy

I usually rely on hotel hairdryers, but before our holiday I read something somewhere about the hairdryers at RTB not being up to scratch so I decided to take my own.....I am pleased I did as the hotel dryer was a very old wall attachment type which became very hot to hold. Having said this we made friends with another couple and the lady was happy with hers - maybe we were unlucky! I'd say if your Fiancee likes her hair to dry quickly then maybe she'd prefer to take her own dryer.

Thank you very much Jan! We're looking forward to the day (this Sunday, eek) but there's still a few loose ends to tie up this week.

I think what we'll do with the hairdryer is leave it 'til last to pack and if there's room for it we'll bring it along. The "problem" if you can call it that is that we're flying Tobago Express from POS to Tobago (BWIA from Heathrow) and they have a limited baggage allowance. Until we discovered this we were going to bring 3 suitcases with us, the small one would hold the shoes, snorkel gear, hairdryer etc etc. Now it looks like we're only bringing 2 cases so the bulky stuff needs to go in with all the clothes...

I know this reply is too late for Dave Guest, who posted the original question, but it may help others.

Take your own hairdrier ! The ones in the room are the wall type and over heat within about 30 seconds. I would not trust them !
