We stayed in the bonito room which was sufficient for my travel buddy and I for the two night stay. We only needed to walk with our clothes and a few grocery supplies. In the fridge there were complimentary beer and watermelon on arrival. There were sufficient towels, sheets, utensils, appliances and cookware for the both of us. The towels and sheets were clean as well as the room. If you are looking for the Hyatt's updated decor, then this is not for you. The decor was simple and appropriate for us. The beds were comfortable as we overslept on our first night and woke up feeling refreshed. The rooms were cleaned plus towels were replaced daily. They even provided liquid and bar soap. For the price we were thoroughly impressed. We would recommend it for someone on a budget that wants a very mellow Tobago experience.
Notable mentions include the Coffee Shop which served us delicious pumpkin ice cream, Maguerite's restaurant which served us great food(loved the fried plantain) and the Blue Mango restaurant which served us a free wild meat meal to ring in 2011 with them(yummy!!!). If you can, rent a car to reach up there. We decided to take the bus which was unreliable(hours late) and as a result I reached back from Scarborough too late and I did not have enough time to go on the hike to the waterfall. Thankfully Ancle was very accommodating and offered us a ride to Scarborough. He also dropped us on New Year's morning to the port with no fuss
I would return and recommend the Naturalist to family and friends.
