QUICK QUESTIONS!

Post by Mandy H »

The countdown is well and truly on, and we're off to Tobago a week on Wednesday!! :D I've just got a couple of questions that I hope someone can help me with! :?

1. What adaptors are needed for Tobago?

2. We’re staying at Birdie’s Nest in Black Rock – are there any restaurants/bars within walking distance? (we are hiring a car but just thought I’d check!)

3. Where is the nearest ATM machine to Birdies Nest?

4. We like to get dressed up and have a special meal on our last night (usually on Barbados at 'The Cliff' when we go there-fantastic!). As it's our first time, where would be the best place to go? All suggestions welcome!!

Thanks for you help in advance!!
:D

Hi Mandy

I'm sure that Steve W would have answered your questions by now, but as he's in Tobago and his internet connection is intermitent - I'll do my best.

1. A two-pin US style adaptor (same as those used in Barbados) will be fine.

2. There are several small local bars, but for some reason or other, I can never remember their names when I come out of them

Black Rock has a couple of bars (I think Michael's is on the main road) and it is a short stroll to Pleasant prospect (past Le Grand Courland hotel) where the sportsman bar / or late-comers as I think it's now called, is situated above the pizza boys shop.
3. This is also the closest ATM to Black Rock (right next to pizza boys) see the pictures and comments at http://www.mytobago.info/restaurants02.php the Blue Machine ATM looks like a phone kiosk in the pizza boys picture.

4. Mmmm - choice for dining out is a very personal thing.
If you are looking for a nice restaurant, within walking distance of Back Rock, then I would suggest either the Sea Horse Inn ( 5 mins along the Grafton beach road), or Indigo (at pleasant prospect, turn into the side road on the left at the little yellow 'Sunrise tours' office).
The Pavillion at The Stonehaven Sanctuary Villas would also be on my list of special places to dine in the Black Rock area.
You should check whether a reservation is required and book earlier in your stay.
You could also check out the restaurant listings and reviews of the food & drink section at the top of this page for details of places to eat, if you don't mind driving or getting a taxi.

Hope this helps

Thanks a lot for your help Steve...much appreciated.

We have hired a car for our whole stay, so don't mind driving to restaurants - especially for a special night. We'll check out your suggestions.

We only have one week to go in rainy Manchester, and then it's off for two weeks of relaxation, rum, and carib! Bliss :P
